In order for your dog to be an enjoyable family companion, proper pet behavior is necessary. Experience has shown us that in order for your dog to be successfully taught, training has to be a fun, rewarding, and positive experience for everyone. Our objective is to motivate your dog to be eager and happy to please you, because he wants to, not because he has to.

Our training will achieve this goal through praise, positive reinforcement, clicker training, guidance, and most of all by making our training FUN for you and your dog. We will teach you how to motivate and guide your dog to learn obedience for life.

We are committed to humane and gentle training methods that will quickly and easily get your dog to perform the desired behavior and respond to a variety of commands willingly.

Your Pooch Will Learn: Placemat, sit, down, come, how to walk on a loose leash, hand target, drop it, leave it, wait at doors, name recognition and more. On week six we test every dog on AKC Puppy Star Skills.

You Will Learn: How to have fun and train your dog at the same time, along with how to handle common problem behaviors. We want to give you and your dog a way to communicate in a positive way when tackling everyday life.

Class: Class is 1 hour per week for 6 weeks. Class size is 6 dogs with 2 trainers per class.

Age: 16 weeks and up.

Required Vaccinations: Distemper, Bordatella, Fecal (every 6 months), Rabies (4 months of age), Heartworm Test (1-year-old), Lepto Vaccine

Price: $330 per dog. This class includes 1 private lesson and free once-a-year refresh through a repeat of the same class.

This is a 6-week course that works on more advanced behaviors than basic obedience class, new cues and new objects. It is for any dog who has completed Basic Obedience and for any owner who is looking for better manners from their smart pup. Canine Good Citizen test is given on graduation day.

Class Covers:

3 D’s:

• Distractions of everyday life
• Distance – working “cues” from further away
• Duration – learning how to hold behaviors for longer periods of time

New Cues:

• Stand
• Settle
• Heel
• Stay
• Behaviors from a distance
• Come on a 25ft long line

Fun Activities:

• Working inside & outside
• Topics on how to make your good dog great!

Class: Class is 1 hour per week for 6 weeks.

Drop-off training includes one-on-one training for your dog with a certified trainer all day. If your dog is a daycare dog here with us, then daycare is included at no extra cost. At the end of the day, a trainer will spend 30 minutes privately with you and your dog to go over everything they have learned that day and to teach you what they know and how to apply this at home. Our training programs are 100% positive and include clicker training. We want your dog to have an enjoyable training experience and learn what you need them to know to be a good citizen.

Boarding Training works the same as drop-off training, except that your dog will stay with us during the training process. Training price does not include boarding.

Drop-off Training Programs

Program #1 (The Basics) 6 days –  Skills Introduced: Loose Leash Walking, Sit, Down, Touch and Name Recognition (dog giving attention when name is given). We also work on teaching your dog to offer voluntary attention to their handler and other appropriate behaviors. (price doesn’t change)

Price: $600 for 6 days. Also includes 2 private 1 HOUR follow up appointments that must be used within 3 weeks.

Program #2 (Duration) 11 days – Skills Introduced: Come, Place, Release Cue, Drop It, and Long Duration with Stationary Cues. Refresh previous skills from program #1.

Price:  $1100 for 11 days. Includes 4 private 1-hour follow up appointments that must be used within 2 months.

Program #3 (Distance) 21 days –Skills Introduced: Heel, Stand, Wait at a Door, and Leave It. We will also teach hand signals for Sit, Down, Stand, Heel, Come and Place. Refresh previous skills from programs #1 and #2.

Price: $1890 for 21 days. Includes 6 private 1-hour follow up appointments that must be used within 3 months.

Intermediate Training for 15 days – Skills Introduced: Heel, Stay, Wait, Station, Come, Leave-It (2) treats on the ground, working previous skills to fluency by more distractions, requesting longer duration and further distance, crowds, noises, and calm (walk by another dog), duration and distance on stationary behaviors.

Upon completion, we will run the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test.

Price: $1350. Includes 1 private 1-hour follow up appointment to prep and test for Canine Good Citizen.

Therapy Dog Training for 15 days – This program is designed to teach the behaviors needed to pass the Therapy Dog International Test. In addition, your dog will be tested for AKC Canine Good Citizen, Canine Community, Canine Urban. Once these tests are done, we will schedule the TDI test.

These 15 days are in addition to our Obedience Program #3 or passing basic and intermediate obedience class as well as a training evaluation.

Price: $1500 for 15 days of training. Includes 2 private 1-hour appointments to prep for TDI test.

Training + Boarding is also available so that your dog stays with us during the training process. Training price does not include boarding.

These are remote consultations provided online to clients who prefer in home appointments without a trainer coming to their home.

When: Consultations can be scheduled on days, evenings or weekends.

In-home training is meant for the dogs that do better in their homes. Must be within 15 minutes of Union Lake or there is an additional fee.
