So your dog is off to the boarding facility for a fun staycation while you and your family take a trip of your own. As you prepare your pup for his mini adventure, don’t forget to set him up with a boarding bag containing any essentials he might need while you’re gone. Be sure to pack the following in your dog’s boarding bag to set him up for a fun and complete visit:
Boarding Bag: Any Special Food or Medication Requirements
While the boarding facility will happily keep your dog properly fed during his stay, you are welcome to pack any special food requirements. Whether your pup only eats a particular kind of food or is on a special diet, you can send him with his food and any instructions on feeding. We feed dogs in our care three times a day, but can adhere to your wishes if your dog has other eating requirements. You can also add on a peanut butter kong treat before bed if you desire.
We are happy to administer your pet’s medications with precise tracking. We just ask that you bring them in the original container.
Boarding Bag: A Non-Retractable Leash
It is important to snap a non-retractable leash onto your pup when you bring him for drop-off. This will ensure the check-in process goes smoothly. We will send this leash home with you, but we ask that you bring it back when you return to pick up your dog.
Boarding Bag: A Safe Collar
If your dog is going to be participating in group play, we ask that you affix him with a flat buckle collar. We’ve found that this is the safest option when the dogs are busy playing. It’s also a good idea to include a tag with your pet’s name and your contact information. If you do not have time to get that before your dog’s stay, don’t worry. We place our own form of identification on all the dogs who stay with us.
Dog’s Boarding Bag: Items Not to Bring
We work hard to create a comfortable and safe environment for all the dogs who board with us. For this reason, there are certain items we ask you not to include in your dog’s boarding bag when your dog comes to stay. These include:
-
- Any beds or blankets from home: Don’t worry, we will provide your dog with a comfy bed and a warm place to sleep.
- Toys from home: We provide plenty of toys in our boarding facility for the pets who stay with us. We’ve found that dogs who bring toys from home have a higher chance of getting territorial over these toys, however, so we ask you to leave these at home.
- Hats: While we are happy to put a sweater on your dog if you prefer, we do not put hats on our canine visitors, so it’s best to leave these safely at home. We can also apply sunscreen as directed if your dog needs it.
- Anything, if you prefer: We provide everything your dog needs to have a fun and cozy stay with us. There is nothing that you need to bring for your dog, but we will happily make accommodations for the things you want to bring (as long as they’re on our approved list).
Check with your kennel as to what they allow and do not allow.
